The Time We Tried a Zombie Party

My good friend is the world’s major zombie fanatic, and every year at Halloween, we have to check out a minumum of one zombie movie for him to become delighted. I made a decision to host a zombie party recently, and although I wasn’t sure how it would end up or what to anticipate, it truly was a great deal of fun, and we have actually had two since that time!

I was a bit worried about having a zombie party at first because everyone coming to the party would be dressed up much the same way. What I did not consider was that different people have totally different thoughts about what a zombie needs to look like, so despite the fact that everyone came as the same creature, hardly anybody appeared exactly the same.

I began to observe that certain people dressed like the zombies from “Dawn of the Dead,” while others dressed like the zombies from “28 Days Later,” yet still others dressed up like the zombies from “Shaun of the Dead.” People decided that if they were going to a zombie party, they were gonna style themselves after the zombies from their individual treasured movies, and as people came inside, everybody else began to identify the movie. It absolutely was an enjoyable experience.

We culminated our zombie party by watching the most recent zombie film that was out at time, which I cannot recall right now, and everybody had a wonderful time. It really amazed me how well-informed everyone was about zombie films. I know that my good friend had a terrific time simply because that’s his chosen genre of horror movie, which needless to say made him the expert, and he fielded questions through the night about why zombies did this or that and what must be done to destroy them.

We now have held two other similar parties since that time, and I must confess that both occasions I was anxious about telling people that I was considering having an additional zombie party, since the very last thing I wanted was to have it turn out to be dull or predictable. It never got that way, nonetheless, and on both instances, all of the people I asked were very excited about coming. I don’t know if it is the truth that zombie costumes are inexpensive or just that everybody appears to want them or like the thought, but I never have difficulty finding takers.

I really am unsure if I will have another zombie party any time soon. There was a run of zombie movies for quite a while, making it not too difficult, but that seems to have slowed down now. I am sure individuals would like the concept, but I need to make sure we retire that custom while it is still the best, and never after it has become pathetic and hackneyed and people talk about how good it “used” to be!
